In the first quarter of 2008 SolarWorld AG significantly expanded the
national and international solar business. Group sales increased over the
previous year by 28 per cent to 167.5 (prior year: 131.1) million EUR. The
operating result before interests and taxes (EBIT) rose by 37 per cent to
39.2 (prior year: 28.7) million EUR. Taking into consideration special
effects like the sale of shares in Gällivare PhotoVoltaic AB (GPV)
amounting to 12.8 million EUR and allowing for a financial result of -13.2
million EUR SolarWorld AG generated a consolidated net profit of 34.8
(prior year: 21.4) million EUR in the first quarter of fiscal year 2008.
