Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. Completes Purchase Of Second Adult Nighclub In Dallas, Texas
HOUSTON - (June 19, 2008) - Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. [NASDAQ-GM:RICK] , premium operator of upscale gentlemen's clubs, said today it has completed the purchase of Platinum Club II in Dallas, TX, and will re-brand it as an upscale Club Onyx catering to African-American gentlemen.

Rick's Cabaret paid $1.5 million in cash for the adult nightclub at the intersection of 10557 Wire Way and Northwest Highway, just off busy I-35 Stemmons Freeway. The company also acquired the accompanying real estate for $6 million, paying $1.65 million in cash and financing the balance. It is the company's second acquisition in Dallas this year and the third in the Dallas-Ft. Worth "Metroplex."

Rick's Cabaret estimates the club will add approximately $4 to $5 million in annual revenue, with earnings before income tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) between $1.5 million to $2 million. This estimate was not included in the company's latest earnings guidance update on May 8th.

Exotic Dancers Excel At More Than Just The Obvious, Says Researcher In Rick's Cabaret "Club Bulletin"
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA - (June 24, 2008) - A respected anthropologist says dancing in topless clubs helps women become poised, self-confident and creative individuals who often go on to higher education and successful business careers.

Judith Lynne Hanna, PhD, a senior research scholar at the University of Maryland, says in an article in the May issue of Exotic Dancer's Club Bulletin that Diablo Cody, who won an Academy Award this year for the "Juno" screenplay, "is one of many performers who prove that exotic dancers are more than sexual objects." Club Bulletin is a bimonthly magazine from ED Publications, Inc., a division of Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. [NASDAQ-GM:RICK] .

"Dancers commonly gain self-esteem and self-confidence appearing nude before strangers," Hanna writes in the business magazine that serves the nearly 4,000 gentlemen's clubs in the U.S. "Successful dancers become acute observers of verbal and nonverbal communication in order to sell a fantasy of themselves and to create the patron's fantasy. Business and money management leads dancers to complete education, start businesses and support families," she adds.

Hanna notes that after Cody won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay "the media referred to her as having 'once worked as a stripper,' 'a former stripper,' a 'retired stripper.' Commenting about her dress, the question was 'what would you expect from a stripper?' and 'she should have saved more dollar bills and bought a better dress.'"

The reason the media attacked Cody, she said, is that "exotic dancing, the preferred term for stripping since the advent of upscale gentlemen's clubs, is stigmatized and has an unfounded reputation for leading to prostitution, drugs, crime and decreased property values. But recent social science has disproved all of this."

In 2006, Cody was the Keynote Speaker at the 14th Annual Gentlemen's Club Owners EXPO, produced by ED Publications. Cody's invitation to speak at the EXPO came on the heels of the success of her book "Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper," which chronicled Cody's experiences as a "regular" girl who decided to spice up her life by dancing at adult nightclubs in Minneapolis.

Hanna earned her PhD in anthropology from Columbia University and also holds an MA in political science from Michigan State University. The author of six books on subjects ranging from dance to social behavior, she has published more than 300 articles in scholarly journals on anthropology, art, black studies, dance, drama, education, gender, leisure and recreation, medicine, music, political science, psychology, religion and urban studies.

die Aufnahme in den mächtigen Russell3000 ist ein starkes Zeichen die Mrd ist das Ziel und ich denke schon das die Investment Leute vom Russell wissen was sie tun.

Montag spätestens Dienstag wird die Meldung seitens Ricks raus gehen, da bin ich mir relativ sicher.

Wie in fast allen Russell Werten waren hier am Freitag auch größere Positionen, hier eine mit über 6 Millionen Value. Bin doch relativ froh das ich erst Freitag so richtig entschieden habe, habe gesehen das hier einige schon weitaus früher drin waren.
 ich steige entweder Montag überstürzt ein, LOL oder warte bis der Abwärtstrend imo bei 16 ca endet und die Trendwende einsetzt.

ach so die alleine die Steigerung der Zahlen ist unglaublich. Unter dem Link kann man zwischen dem letzten Jahr und den Quartalszahlen hin und her switschen. Im letzten Geschäftsjahr 32 Millionen Einnahmen und in den beiden Quartalen für dieses Jahr ist Ricks schon bei rund 26 Millionen. Der Gewinn unterm Strich steigt auch deutlich. Ich habe nach der Uni damals mal das Glück gehabt in so einem Club zu feiern. Die Kosten die durch Personal entstehen usw.... zeigen sich auch in den Clubs. Klasse kostet.

Habe Rick's schon länger auf der WL, Ausblick 2009 ist ja wirklich ausgezeichnet. Aber wohl auch sehr ambitioniert.

 

Kurs kam ja die letzten Tage ganz schön unter die Räder! Meinungen?  Gut, Gesamtmarkt ist auch schwach aber Rick's ist ja übermässig gefallen !?

 

Was hat es mit dem Lizenserwerb in Nevada aufsicht ? Kann mir das mal einer erklären ? Will Rick's dort Clubs eröffnen ? Was ist mit dem Scores Las Vegas ? wurde doch kürzlich von Rick's übernommen !? haben die keine Lizenz oder was ?

 

Yo sonst, die neuen Clubs "Scores" und "Tootsie's" scheinen ja wirklich zwei Top-Clubs zu sein !?

 

Übrigens ich kann die Internetseite www.ricks.com leider nicht öffenen, ist das bei Euch auch so ? steht nur "Seite kann nicht angezeigt werden !?

Meines Wissens liegt Las Vegas in nevada, die entgültigen Linzensen sind nun da und bis zum 2 July soll die komplette Übernehme ja stattgefunden haben. Es müssen ja auch mehrere Linzensen beantragt werden. Deswegen schätze ich das nächste Woche das entgültige JA kommt.

Mit dem Ausblick für 2009 ist das so eine Sache, da muss noch eine Menge passieren, das letzte PP hat ja noch ein paar Dollars übrig gelassen um neue Clubs zu finden. Es muss aber auch eine gewisse Qualität und schon ein gewisser Umsatz in den fraglichen Clubs vorliegen damit Erics Strategie aufgeht. Bisher hat wirklich jede Übernahme  den Wert und den Umsatz gesteigert.

Der Rücksetzer war heftig aber auch im Chart sichtbar.

Rick kommt nun auf die Unterstützungszonen von Mitte April und November 2007. Die Bekanntheit ist auch meiner Meinung das Problem, der Kurs kann sehr gut bei News steigen, aber es fehlt dann an Nachhaltigkeit. Aber Ricks scheint das nicht übermäßig zu stören, er zieht seine Ziele durch die beim MK von aktuell 141,45 ist noch eine weiter Weg bis zur Mdr. ANders als durch Zukäufe scheint mir das Ziel schwer erreichbar, aslo erwarte ich deswegen schon weitere Übernahmen. Auch noch dieses Jahr. Las Vegas sollte wie schon gesagt kurzfristig abgeschlossen sein und danach werden noch andere kommen.

Aber wichtig ist die Aufnahme in den Russell 3000 Index. Dort sind die 3000 erfolgreichsten Ag in den USA gelistet. Zudem ist Russell eine Investmentfirma die auch Shares der Unternehmen sich in die Depots legen wird, wenn das nicht schon am Freitag passiert ist. Aber da die Russell zich Firmen aufgenommen haben werden die nicht alles Pulver mit einmal verschießen. Alleine dadurch erwarte ich  eine Trendwende. Im schlimmsten Fall sollte meiner Meinung die Trendwende bei 16,33 einsetzen.

ich glaube weil die Lizenzen nicht zu kaufen sind, sondern bei jedem Besitzer neu beantragt werden müssen
