IRW-PRESS: FRANKLIN MINING (FMNJ.PK - Nachrichten) : Franklin Mining Inc.: Erste Zusammenfassung der Evaluierung von Escala I eingetroffen; geologische und bergbautechnische Untersuchungen sind für die Woche vorgesehen, die am 17. März 2008 beginnt
LAS VEGAS, NV - Franklin Mining Inc. (Pink Sheets: FMNJ News; FWB: FMJ).
Februar 2008 zum Vice President of Operations for International Mining ernannt. This was also Mr. Petty's first opportunity as Franklin's CEO for personal meetings with representatives of the World Bank's International Finance Corporation and with Buenos Aires-based executives and managers of TECNA. Mr. Petty received assurance that the IFC also remains committed to assisting in the construction of a plant designed to address fuel shortage issues in Tierra de Fuego. Mr. Petty's TECNA meetings resulted in his receiving assurances that their proposal, originally submitted in 2007, will be reviewed, updated as necessary and re-submitted for Franklin's consideration and approval.

In discussing his recently completed five day fact-finding visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mr. Petty said, "I want to thank each of the executives and directors that I met with while in Buenos Aires last week. It was fortunate that Eduardo Humberto de Andrea, Tierra de Fuego's Secretary of Hydrocarbons Ministry, and I were able to coordinate our schedules and set time aside for a personal visit. I look forward to working with the Secretary and his staff in the near future."
"Meetings with Mr. Luc Grillet, IFC's Regional Head Oil & Gas, Oil, Gas, Mining and Chemicals Department were especially rewarding. Knowing of the IFC's commitment to assisting with economic and community development projects, I came away from last week's meetings totally comfortable that our Tierra de Fuego project will receive every possible consideration from Mr. Grillet and his staff," Mr. Petty said in conclusion.
Comprising three separate mining applications, COMIBOL's Escala Mine concession totals 2,000 hectares located in the Sud Lipez Province, near Bolivia's border with Argentina. Franklin Mining, Bolivia has been awarded a contract to mine 500 hectares within the original concession. Escala II and Escala III mining applications are currently assigned to another company.
The original Escala Mine was established during the Spanish colonial period and has been mined for lead, zinc, gold and silver. In 2007, Franklin Mining, Bolivia negotiated an agreement with COMIBOL, National Mining Company of Bolivia, to resume mining operations within the area of the original concession.
